La semaine dernière, Prince a posté une nouvelle chanson, appelée « The Will Never Be Another One Like Me » sur le mystérieux site Mplsound.com, qui a disparu aussi vite qu'il est arrivé. La chanson, un mélange de funk et de soul, parlerait de la légende du funk Rick James, selon le magazine Rolling Stone.
Prince a également diffusé en avant première quelques nouvelles chansons, incluant « Crimson & Clover », « Colonized Mind » et « Wall Of Berlin » à la station de radio Indie 103, basée à Los Angeles.
Il a également déclaré lors de son passage que son nouvel album était presque fini mais qu'il « ne voulait pas impliquer des maisons de disques » et qu'il « avait rendez-vous avec des gens du milieu afin de trouver une façon de sortir son album à son niveau sans passer par la case production exécutive ».
