Oasis qui a récemment rempli Bercy ne pourra pas se produire en Chine et se voit donc obligé de tronquer sa tournée mondiale pour l'album "Dig Out Your Soul".
Pékin a en effet décidé de refuser aux Mancuniens son autorisation de fouler le sol chinois.
La cause en serait la participation du guitariste Noel Gallagher au concert Freedom for Tibet donné à New York en 1997. Les censeurs du ministère de la culture chinois ont estimé que le groupe "n'était pas convenable à présenter à ses fans" et ont donc décidé de faire annuler les concerts prévus à Pékin et à Shanghai les 3 et 5 avril prochain.
De plus en plus de groupes de premier plan se produisent en Chine (dernièrement les Rolling Stones) mais le pouvoir de Pékin se montre extrêmement méfiant depuis le scandale provoqué par la chanteuse Bjork qui avait manifesté son soutien à la cause tibétaine au cours d'un concert donné à Shanghai en mars 2008.
