Le groupe irlandais U2 a annoncé hier sur son blog qu’il allait retransmettre sur la plateforme de vidéo YouTube son prochain concert qui aura lieu au stade Rose Bowl de Pasadena (Californie). C’est la première fois qu’un concert de cette envergure sera retransmis en streaming sur le Net.

Ce concert de U2 n’attend pas moins de 96000 spectateurs au stade Rose Bowl de Pasadena et sera rediffusé gratuitement dans 16 pays (Australie, Brésil, Canada, Corée du Sud, Grande-Bretagne, Espagne, Etats-Unis, France, Inde, Irlande, Israël, Italie, Japon, Mexique, Nouvelle-Zélande, Pays-Bas) via chez le géant de la vidéo.

Rappelons que YouTube a été acheté par Google pour 1,65 milliard de dollars en 2006, et même si le nombre de vidéo consultées par jour dépasse le milliard, le géant de la vidéo se tourne de plus en plus vers la diffusion d'événements en direct.
