Charlotte Gainsbourg vient de diffuser une chanson portant le nom d’IRM (oui comme Imagerie par résonance magnétique), disponible gratuitement en téléchargement sur son site internet.

Pour ce troisième album « IRM », dont la sortie est prévue pour le 07 décembre 2009, Charlotte Gainsbourg a fait appel à l’auteur-compositeur américain Beck.
La chanteuse s’est également faite accompagner par les musiciens de Beck. Dans cet album, Beck a lui-même coécrit plusieurs chansons en passant beaucoup de temps avec Charlotte pour bien comprendre où elle voulait aller.

L’influence de Beck a notamment aidé Charlotte Gainsbourg à trouver de nouvelles orientations musicales.
Elle explique « Nous avons commencé par le titre Master's Hands, qui a une rythmique proche des styles africains, puis on a fait In The End, qui est beaucoup plus mélodique et sensible. Ensuite, Heaven Can Wait a suivit, un morceau plus pop classique. Au cours de la première session, nous sommes partis dans trois directions complètement différentes. »
